Established on March 4, 1994 with gifts from alumni, friends, and current members of the Townshend Chapter of Alpha Zeta Fraternity, and in memory of Mark Sommers, by his friends and family; used for scholarships or other appropriate educational, professional, and personal enrichment experiences for students enrolled at The Ohio State University who are active members or engaged in the new member education program of Alpha Tau Zeta Fraternity, Townshend Chapter, and have a minimum 2.85 cumulative grade point average. The description was revised and the name was changed to The Townshend ATZ Endowment Fund, on March 5, 1999. The description was revised again on May 7, 1999, and was further revised May 4, 2007.
