Women & Philanthropy

Women are setting new trends in philanthropy—tending toward investment, engagement, and social responsibility—and they play a significant role in philanthropy at Ohio State. To encourage and celebrate women’s important contributions, The Ohio State University Foundation created the Women & Philanthropy program. All women—from established donors to those seeking to make their first gifts—are invited to join and do something great.

Women & Philanthropy has a three-part mission: to educate women about the exemplary programs and areas of excellence at Ohio State, to engage women in the life of the university, and to empower women in philanthropy and celebrate their unique contributions.

Women & Philanthropy inspires women to discover the power of giving together. Each member of the program is asked to contribute a minimum of $1,000 annually into a pooled fund. Throughout the year, members are invited to presentations about selected areas of need from across the campus. At the end of each year, the funds are distributed to selected areas based upon a vote by members.
