Wexner Center for the Arts
Located in the heart of campus, the Wexner Center for the Arts is a one-stop destination for global contemporary
culture and a beacon in the Midwest for the arts. Offering intellectual and aesthetic stimulation for Ohio State students,
faculty, staff, and visitors, the Wex is internationally known as an incubator for creative research and development,
as well as the place to see some of the best new work in visual arts, performing arts, and film from far-flung points around
the globe, from São Paulo to Berlin, Tokyo to Tel Aviv. In turn, work created here by resident artists has premiered at the
Wex before traveling to venues in San Francisco, Dallas, New York, Brussels, Beirut, and beyond (with artists going on to receive
Tony Awards, Oscar nominations, MacArthur Foundation fellowships, and more).
Here at Ohio State—the only university in the country with a place like the Wex—artists have had the opportunity to develop
their ideas and creative concepts with faculty and staff from such fields as astronomy, agriculture, athletics, medicine,
business, law, and engineering, in addition to the arts and humanities. These partnerships lead to all manner of exploration
and experimentation, helping to make Ohio State the very embodiment of the “creative campus” movement. As it approaches its 25th
anniversary in the fall of 2014, the Wexner Center is working to build on past successes to become an ever more relevant and
vital resource for the campus community, as well as the city, region, and world.
