Ohio State’s College Public Health aims to achieve the fundamental fairness of a healthy world through global significance and local impact.

The College of Public Health is an integral part of the most comprehensive health sciences campus in the nation. First established in 1995 as part of the College of Medicine, the college was created in February 2007 when the university’s Board of Trustees elevated the school to a college. It is the first and only accredited college of its kind in the state of Ohio. Specializations include biostatistics, epidemiology, health behavior and health promotion, environmental health sciences, health services management and policy, veterinary public health, and clinical investigations.

Bernard J. Lachner Graduate Fellowship

Established March 5, 1976, by Mrs. Bernard Lachner and sons, Bernard J., III, Thomas F. and James T. Lachner, in his honor. Income provides a fellowship in hospital and health services administration.

The Donald R. Newkirk Scholarship Fund in Health Services Management and Policy

Established February 4, 2000, by friends, family, colleagues and students in his honor through The Foundation. Income provides scholarships to graduates enrolled in Health Services Management and Policy. Selection of the Newkirk Scholars is based on meri t, leadership potential and/or need.

Dr. Gary G. Koch and Mrs. Carolyn J. Koch Fellowship Fund in the Interdisciplinary PhD Program in Biostatistics

Established January 30, 2014, with gifts from Dr. Gary G. Koch [BS 1962, MS 1963] and Mrs. Carolyn J. Koch; used to supplement the Gary and Carolyn Koch Student Fund in Joint PhD Program in Biostatistics [#313710]; until December 31, 2025 unless the endowment is revised prior to that date; after December 31, 2025 the fund shall be revised to either a fellowship or a student financial aid fund.

Eminence Fund in Health Services Management and Policy

Income provides discretionary funds to the division to fund one or more activities that have the potential to improve the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program’s national reputation. Students and student groups will be eligible to submit a short proposal to the division to request money for any activity that would enhance the MHA program’s national reputation. This could include funding a student's research / paper, funding a case competition, sending a student to a conference, or anything that might put one or more MHA students in a national spotlight.

First Community Village Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established June 4, 1993, by First Community Village. Income provides scholarships to students in the Division of Hospital and Health Services Administration interested in long-term care management and policy.

Global Health Travel Fund in the College of Public Health

To support students and faculty traveling to conduct research, participate in field practice placements, and partake in service learning opportunities, all focused on global public health.
