Office of Military and Veterans Services
Ohio State’s Office of Military and Veterans Services is the university’s single point of contact for
veteran and military students. From registration and enrollment all the way through graduation, the
Office of Military and Veterans Services ensures the academic success of those who are serving and have
served our country.
Ohio State’s military and veteran students' programs are already nationally recognized. In Best for Vets:
Colleges 2014, Ohio State was ranked 18th among four-year colleges, and earned four stars for academic
support and extracurricular activities. In addition to evaluating a school’s veteran-focused operations,
the publication places emphasis on academic rigor; Ohio State’s graduation rate of 82 percent is one of
the top four among all institutions.
In addition to assisting students with educational and academic resources, the office also provides military
and veteran orientations, focused academic counseling, tailored support services and the education of faculty
and staff on military student issues.
Our office ensures we provide our increasing population of military and veteran students with help accessing
their educational benefits and the resources they need for academic success and a rich student experience.

their service by helping connect fellow veterans to resources and experiences that will ensure
the success of our veteran student population. Veterans helping veterans; students helping students.

offering 12 veteran students the opportunity for off-campus living with a connection to campus
resources through a live-in resident advisor. A converted fraternity house, a functional kitchen,
dining room, living room, game room, student spaces, and individual bedrooms provide veterans a
transitional space while surrounding students with others with similar experiences.
Academic Enrichment and Networking support allows us to offer specialized career
guidance to veteran students through partnerships with both academic and professional resources
on campus and in the community. Veteran students who participate in these opportunities are
introduced to community and campus leaders, encouraged and supported to build a network of
professionals related to their field of interest, and given the resources to form strong
